About MyoGenex

The Future of Progress Starts Here

MyoGenex is a biotechnology company advancing precision RNA medicine for inherited genetic diseases, with an initial focus on desmoplakin-associated arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (DSP-ACM), a rare inherited heart condition that can lead to life-threatening arrhythmias and heart failure. Our mission is to develop innovative RNA-based therapies that target the underlying molecular causes of disease, moving beyond symptom management toward treatments designed to address disease at its source.

Founded on the belief that scientific innovation and patient experience can drive meaningful change, MyoGenex is committed to advancing research through collaboration, scientific excellence, and a patient-first approach. While our first programs focus on rare genetic cardiomyopathies, our long-term vision is to build a platform of precision RNA medicines that has the potential to improve the lives of patients affected by a broad range of inherited diseases.

Who We Are

MyoGenex was founded on the belief that the most meaningful scientific innovations often arise from a deep understanding of patients’ unmet needs. Inspired by a personal journey with desmoplakin-associated arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (DSP-ACM), our company combines scientific expertise with a patient-first perspective to advance precision RNA medicines for inherited genetic diseases. We are committed to translating innovative research into therapies that address the underlying causes of disease and improve the lives of patients and their families.

Carolyn Kaya, Founder, brings more than 25 years of experience in biopharmaceutical research and development spanning drug discovery, translational research, laboratory operations, biomarker research, and scientific leadership. Carolyn is uniquely driven to accelerate the development of innovative therapies for rare genetic diseases. Her vision for MyoGenex is rooted in combining scientific excellence with the lived experience of patients to advance transformative precision medicine.

Dr. Tolga Kaya, MBA, serves as Project Manager, providing strategic leadership and cross-functional project coordination. He is currently the Director of Engineering at Sacred Heart University, where he oversees the growth of engineering programs, leads curriculum development, directs the design and operation of the IDEA Lab makerspace, advises students, recruits faculty, develops outreach initiatives, and builds strategic partnerships with industry. A Visiting Assistant in Research at Yale University earlier in his career, he applies his expertise in analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit design, biomedical engineering, engineering education, innovation and technology commercialization to guide strategic planning, foster collaborations, and support the development of innovative technologies for rare genetic diseases.
